The Management Team

Stephen Naor, CEO
Prior to co-founding Group IV, Stephen was COO and VP Operations of Digital Fairway Corporation. He led the enterprise through two rounds of financing, assembling a dynamic team that built momentum with strong revenues in the space of just two years. Stephen has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, product management and R&D. He has held senior and executive management positions at Nortel Networks and Newbridge Networks. He introduced multiple networking products to the Japanese market, headed North American Sales for Nortel's systems integration business and launched that division's business in South America. Stephen holds a Master of Applied Science degree and a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.

Dr. George Chik, CTO
As Vice President at JDS Uniphase, George was responsible for advanced technology planning, reporting directly to the CEO. Previously, he was Chief Scientist of Advanced Technology and held senior management positions at Nortel Networks. His laser designs were the foundation of that company’s highly successful optical communications systems. George managed Oprel Technologies Inc., a pioneering optical subsystems supplier, and built it into a $50 million business before making a successful exit. He serves on the Advisory Board of the National Research Council’s Institute for Microstructural Sciences. George holds an M.A.Sc. degree and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto and Carleton University.

Howard Tweddle, Director of Business Development
A 20-year semiconductor industry veteran with international success in marketing, product management and sales, Howard was VP Marketing and Product Management at Mitel Semiconductor (now Zarlink), and part of the management team that launched and built that company into a segment-leading components maker. Howard gained his engineering experience in the UK with Thorn EMI; then based in Brussels he developed European semiconductor components markets for RCA Solid State. Howard has run many successful product lines and built channels both in the Americas and in the Far East, where he created Mitel’s presence in Japan, China, Korea and elsewhere. Howard holds a Masters degree in electrical sciences from Cambridge University and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
